Part III...continuing Sunday...

So after church, me & the kids ran home to change and get ready for a BBQ @ Ty & Nancy's. We were supposed to follow Rochelle & Darrin, so we headed over to their house first. I was sooooo tired! The lack of sleep was finally catching up with me.
(Nathan's been in Utah, since Thursday, so of course what do I do after the kids go to bed? I stay up late. But then Tyler's been sick all week with a cold, and for the past 2 nights has woken up almost every couple of hours tossing restlessly & crying in his sleep. So once I do go to bed, I've been woken up several times a night. Then never fail, my kids are up bright & early the next morning. I so, would love for them to sleep in....at least once. That'd be so nice!!!)

Anyway, Roch & Morgan drove with us, while Josh & Darrin headed over to Frank & Gloria's. (Darrin's parents). Then on the way there, I totally forgot to pay a bill, that was due that day. Nice!!! So as bad as this sounds, I dropped off Rochelle & the kids, & ran to the store to pay my bill. I know, I know, that's so awful!!!
Anyway so I finally get back to Ty's house & the gate code wouldn't work. I kept pushing the right code, but it wouldn't open. I guess I wasn't pushing it all the way in. So after more than 5 minutes of pushing buttons & looking like an idiot, I finally called my sister's cell phone. Which she didn't answer, of course. So I called Ty's house and finally got Courtney to get the gate code from her dad, Ty. Finally I was able to get in! Sorry Frank & Gloria, for having to wait behind me! :).
Let's just say, that by this time, I was totally starving. I had only eaten breakfast that day, and nothing else, & it was already past 5:30 p.m. So I walk in and the entire island & kitchen table are covered in all of this delicious food. Holy cow!!! I don't think I've ever eaten more food in one sitting. I was so stuffed when I was done. Hot dogs, Hamburgers, chips & dip, deviled eggs, veggies & dip, bbq beans (thanks Nancy...delicious!), an awesome guacamole dip (Corey I still want your recipe...stop keeping the secret), desserts galore!, and many, many, many, many more. You name it. Delicious!!!! They almost had to roll me out of there! Which in turn made me even more tired.
So after making sure Tyler didn't fall down their very steep stairs! I went and hung out in one of their daughter's bedrooms with my sister & chilled, since she was getting a huge headache.
Sorry Ty & Nancy if I seamed anti-social. I was just soooo tired, I could barely carry on a conversation even with Roch. :)
Anyway, so after things wound down, we went to Roch's to get Morgan's things so she could sleep over again. But when we got there, they hadn't gotten home yet. I did have a key about 3 days prior, but it turned out to be Tyra's key & she needed it back. So we waited for them to show up. They, in the meantime, were trying to return a movie at the Red box, before they were charged again. But this wonderful lady and all of her kids, instead of being polite & letting my sister quickly return hers, which would take...oh... not even a minute.... said that they were almost done, after scrolling through several movies and asking the children's opinion on each one. Needless to say, my sister was 5 minutes late returning her 1 movie. Such a nice lady!
So by the time we got to my house I could literally barely keep my eyes open. I had the girls get ready for bed, while I got the boys ready, and when I went to put them down, I nodded off for I don't know how long. Then I heard the girls giggling, so I woke up & went to turn off Mikayla's light to finally get them to go to sleep, & went & got ready for bed myself. The whole time hearing the girls talking & giggling. Then all of the sudden it was eerily quiet. So just to be on the safe side I decided to go & make sure the girls had gone to bed. So I quietly walk back to the kids rooms & peek in, & lo & behold...no Morgan....no Mikayla. So thinking they went downstairs to play the computer or Nintendo. I walk downstairs, only to be met with more silence. I called their names several times, starting to feel slightly nervous, and then went back upstairs thinking, that maybe they had hidden, so they wouldn't get in trouble. But still....no girls! Finally I went to check our empty bedroom (which is always kept shut w/ the vent off, since it's not being used right now.) And who should I find? Morgan pressed up against the wall as far as she can go...sound asleep. And Mikayla as far to the other side of the bed as she could go, almost hanging off the edge, also sound asleep. They had both wanted to sleep in the same bed, but since they are both 'kickers & movers' in their sleep, it was really funny to find them in that position. I'm surprised the room didn't bother them, it was a little toasty. So after opening up the vent & leaving the door open, I quietly exited & proceeded to the master bedroom, where I immediately passed out myself! Only to be awakened by my cute boys early the next morning :). WHY WON'T YOU LET ME SLEEP IN? WHY???? (I still love you, though :).

Part II: Sunday

Sunday we were finally able to go to our new ward! Yay! I didn't know anyone, the last couple of Sundays & didn't even know how to go about finding out. So I didn't know what ward we're in & what time it meets at. Thank goodness I met Marcie (the primary president) who was able to give us all the information!
As embarrassing as this sounds, though, we pretty much completely missed all of sacrament. There was a slight miscommunication when I was supposed to pick up Mikayla so she wasn't ready. But mom was already running late with the boys. But, hey, at least we made it. Right?!

Anyway, Mikayla was really scared when it was time to take her to meet her new class. I almost had to pry her hands off my arm! Her eyes slightly welled up with tears. But, thank goodness, the teacher is super nice & invited Mikayla to sit by her. So that made it a little better. She still had both arms outstretched towards me when I went to take Jayden to the front row in the primary room, though. But she was a big girl & stayed by the teacher. She deserves some major points for that :o). I'm proud of you baby!

Here I was thinking I'd have to deal with 3 really emotional children our first Sunday, but Mikayla was the only one who was scared. I couldn't believe it! I walked Jayden to the front row, where the other little kids were, and he sat right in the closest seat, without pausing a beat, & turned to mom & waved goodbye. What the crap! I was floored. Let's just say he usually doesn't do that! So now I had one more kid to drop off. So far, so good!

So me & Tyler, after some much needed directions from Marci, finally find the nursery room. After setting Tyler down, I Immediately brace for a major breakdown. And what does he do? He folds his cute little arms and looks up at his new teacher & the other kids & just stands there patiently! She asked him if he wanted a toy to play with, which he nodded his head. So, after informing her he loves cars, she proceeded to find him a car to play with and he walks over and joins the kids without once looking back at mom. Not one bit upset! I almost cried! He was just so dang cute. I wish I couldn't taken a picture! Ohhhh! My baby's growing up. Inset: mom quietly crying. Not fair. He's getting so big, way too fast. I'm so not ready for this!!! :). So I stood there for a minute looking completely dumbstruck, almost like I didn't know what I was doing. Then quietly exited back through the door, almost shaking my head in amazement @ how smooth the whole thing had gone. Wow! I'm still amazed!!! The teacher, said if he got really upset, she'd just bring him to me. But, lo & behold! There were none. Go figure!
So now it was mom's turn to figure out where in the world I go. So after asking Marci, and then the nursery teacher (who neither one knew, since they're usually in primary) & a couple of people out in the hallway, I head off to the Chappel for Sunday School. It was so strange to me. I have never gone to Sunday School by myself in a new ward EVER!!! I almost felt like Mikayla. I was slightly scared! I guess really nervous, is a better way of putting it. But still. I almost felt like crying. When it came time to introduce new members, I felt like a total idiot. Anyway...moving on!

As anyone who knows me knows, that Relief Society is definitely my favorite part of church. I absolutely love it! No matter how hard the week is, how stressful it gets, I always look forward to that weekly spiritual uplift! With the craziness of the move & other things, I have missed that spiritual high so much!!! It just feels like something's missing.
I walked in & sat on the very first seat to my right, on the very last row. Yes... I know shocking :). And proceeded to read through some food storage material I'd grabbed out of a binder in Sunday School. Trying not to feel stupid, & trying to ignore all the curious stares I was being showered with, hoping that the lesson would immediately start. Finally the Relief Society President (I assumed), walked to the front of the room to begin. Whew!!!
But then, as in most meetings, she asks if anyone is visiting or new in the ward. And after having one lady introduce herself as a visitor. I proceeded to slowly raise my hand, hoping to not visually cringe in my seat. So far so good. But when I go to open my mouth, (I now know to prepare what I'm going to say beforehand. So when this time comes again, I hopefully won't stumble over my words and come across as sounding like a complete idiot!!!)
So after giving my little speach. She looks at me with a big smile, and says, what's your name now? Yeh....name would be good! Hello. Okay I came across as being an even bigger idiot than originally thought.....N I C E !!! Thank you much! I think I'll take a bow now. :) yeah....anyway moving on.
Finally the lesson began...and what a wonderful lesson it was! I have missed my weekly spiritual uplift so much! I immediately felt the spirit & this calm peaceful feeling just radiated throughout my entire body. I so needed that! Amazing! I've loved the lessons that have been taught all year long. I'm so glad they relate to us in this age, in our current struggles & hardships. Each week brings a new feeling of love & peace & hope. What a blessing!
Thank you Heavenly Father I needed that!!!!

Part 1...Fun Weekend!!! :)

Can I just say I'm so excited to be closer to my sister Rochelle & her family again. :) We've definitely missed them!

It's been really great being able to hang out with them & be able to spend time with them again. Instead of the occasional, few & far in between, vacations to Vegas that is. :). Since my husband's in Utah for the bow hunt, we've pretty much spent most of the weekend with her & my niece Morgan. :) Which has been alot of fun! Here's a break down of the weekend! I'm breaking it up into parts as you can tell,...otherwise it's be one huge long novel, & you'd be asleep within minutes :).

Friday we went & picked up Morgan after she got out of school, so she could come & play @ our house. Since she's been calling everyday to come over & play :), so I promised her I would. Then we went over to one of our neighbors houses, since that morning she had invited us to come over & visit with her & her family, so the kids could get to know each other & play. It was a lot of fun! Marci & Eric. Super nice couple! Their oldest son Tayven is in my daughter's class @ school. And we happened to run into them Thursday night, when we went to the little park by our house.
Marci is really sweet. She came over Friday morning with her younger kids, & another neighbor, Brooke, & her kids. To introduce them to my son Jayden, since they each have a son his age, and to further welcome us to the neighborhood. Yay :) I finally know a neighbor...awesome! :):) Plus she's the primary president @ our local ward :). Coincidence, I think not! :) So she put each of the kids in her kids classes so they would at least know one person & not be so nervous. See what I mean....super sweet!
What's funny is that when we lived here 4 years ago, we were in the exact same ward, & pregnant at the exact same time. We knew alot of the same people, but we never met. I just thought it was so funny. It's crazy how things work out. Needless to say, Mikayla & Jayden are over the moon thrilled that they each have a friend their own age now. :). They had a lot of fun!! They definitely still miss all their friends back home! But they're very excited to have met some new ones here. Mikayla especially was afraid she wouldn't have any friends here. She's been really worried about that since we've moved here. So thanks Marci & Eric, for your awesome hospitality & for letting the kids get to know each other!!! :):)
So after a fun evening at our neighbors house, we came home & my sister Rochelle came over & we rented some movies @ the red box. One for her & I to watch..Push. And one for the kids to watch upstairs....Bolt. It was so much fun! :) Just chillin', eatin' ice cream, & watching movies. It was great :):):) Thank Roch for an awesome evening & for trying to teach me online poker on facebook :)! Still a lost cause! :)

Then Saturday we all went grocery shopping @ Cosco (& ate lots & lots of awesome food samples. Yum! :o), & of course, Ross (our favorite store :). For anyone who knows me & my sister, that's a given :). It actually wasn't that bad with the kids either. Shocking!!! They voluntarily went with us! Another shocker!
Let's just say by the time we left, they had, not only, completely straightened & organized the entire toy section. But the Halloween & part of the luggage section as well. They were so excited when the loss prevention guy told them what a great job they'd done & that they should be hired. It was so cute :). I wish I had a picture of the smiles on their faces! :) That is definitely the cleanest I have EVER, seen the toy area. :) Good job kids :):) Now if only you could do that @ home :). That'd be Great!!!
Afterwards we went back to Roch's house to chill & eat Spaghetti. The kids devoured it! Holy cow. I think they each had 2 or 3 servings. Crazy. All that work at the store, made them ravenous :). Thanks Darrin :)...you're the best!! :). Then Mikayla stayed & had a sleepover, while me & the boys drove back home.

Holy Slacker Batman!!!

Okay first off...... I so need an updated family photo! :) Loooooni. Where are you? :) I need my mega talented Sister to come down and visit for one! Hint Hint. And secondly, to take some awesome new photos. I was hoping to do them before we moved, but things were just too crazy, & it never worked out. So if anyone needs any family pictures, wedding pictures, any event pictures :), call my sister. She is an awesome photographer!!!! And I'm not just saying that because we're related, either. She really is amazing! Don't believe me? Check out some awesome photoshoots she's done. Her website is http://lonileah.typepad.com/photography/ Please check it out.

Now, looking @ the rest of my blog, I wholeheartedly acknowledge that I have officially become a member of the Super Slackers of the blog world Club! That is quite the feat, let me tell you. :) Hey.......after this move, I'm just glad I still have my sanity intact!

I will definitely try & do a much better job! :)

Mikayla's Ears....

As some of you know Mikayla's been having a lot of problems with her ears being infected since she's had her ears pierced. We tried several different things & finally just ended up putting her studs back in about a month ago, hoping it would clear up completely.

Well last Thursday, she wanted me to change her earrings. I wanted to check her ears first, though, to make sure the infection had cleared up completely. So after taking out the earring in her left ear, I was happy to note that it looked 100% better. So far, so good. So I bent her ear back so I cold get a good look at the back of it, and what I originally thought was dried up infection starting coming out of her ear. I was amazed that it was so big & in such a perfect little tube shape. Well after taking a much closer look... it was the actual plastic backing to the earring! Crazy!!! When we put the studs back in, it felt like her ears were a little hard at the pierce site, but I took that to be because of the infection. I never imagined it was a plastic backing! Don't ask me how in the world it got there!!!

Busy But Fun Day !

Wow, I am really bad about keeping up to date on my blog! Things just get so busy & I tend to let it slide. Now that that's said :)...........

This last Saturday we were able to watch the air show @ Hill Air Force Base. I was hoping to watch it from the actual base, but the hubby had other plans (well that & he didn't want to wait behind the incredibly long line of cars....bummer). Plus I think he secretly just wanted to go hiking. :) Anyway, we were able to find a really good spot just east of the base...the southeast corner, with an awesome view.

The air show was incredible!!! I am amazed at the talent of some of those pilots! For someone who is not keen on flying....I was ready to strap on a helmet and go up myself, especially after watching the F-16. :) That was definitely my favorite! :) That guy looked liked he was having a blast!!! I love the sound of jets. Especially when he put his after burners on. :). It was crazy... when he first took off, it seamed like he kind of steered too sharp upwards and the nose dipped up sharply and then he straightened out and took off right above where we were standing. I wish I had a shot of it. It was pretty cool.
Of course I had my new 75 - 300mm zoom lens with me, so I was snapping pictures left & right. I think I might've went a little overboard, but who cares. It was the first time I actually could see what it could do.

The kids were more interested in finding bugs though, I think. They loved the planes, of course, but they were just glad to be outside & having fun playing in the tall grass and weeds.

Nathan took the kids on a long hike, while me & Vic (Nathan's dad) & Tyler, stayed back at the van, so I could take some pictures. Mikayla was so excited to show me the collection of flowers she had picked for me, & the lady bugs she'd caught. Poor Brandon, though, his allergies were about killing him when they got back. His eyes were all puffy. I felt so bad!

(This plant was the worst...I can't remember what it's called.)

Here's are some more shots I took. (p.s. next time...I need to buy a lens hood!!! :)

...
Then afterwards we went to Wendy's to grab some nuggets for the kids. And then a couple hours later we went to our annual Neighborhood party at the park by our house & ate BBQ shredded pork, and Hot Dogs & every imaginable salad you could think of, and chips & dessert to finish it off. Plus, they had lots of games set up for the kids. I brought my camera, but did I take any pictures of the party?......noooooo. Oh well, it was a lot of fun!

What an awesome day :):):):)

Updates...

Okay been big time slacking in the update department :).

Let's see what's been going on?............................

I'm still trying to get my house ready to sale. I've decided it's an impossible task with 3 kids. :) I'm currently in the process of trying to find stuff to sell in a yard sale. Oh I'm so excited about that :( ...not. I'm sorry but doing a yard sale is like getting your tooth pulled (o.k. not that I ever have,....I just imagine it would be :). We had one when we were living in Provo, and people barely wanted to spend anything. Plus the weather was supposed to be nice, and a freak storm moved in...go figure. Let's just say, It was not a fun experience! So here's to hopefully having a better experience this time.
It will be nice though to get rid of the stuff we don't need!!! I don't know if it's like this for anyone else? But we have accumulated a lot of junk with each passing year. I keep holding onto things thinking that each younger child will play with them,....which so far they really haven't. So I just need to break the emotional attachment & let them go to a new home. It's way past time! It is so hard to keep a clean house when you have so much extra stuff to clutter it up. It's just an invitation for disaster. Plus it feels like this constant weight on my shoulders. Does that sound crazy? Where you feel so overwhelmed, you just want to hide it and forget about it.
I felt like that growing up. When I'd have to do chores. I never knew where to put most the stuff away, so it usually ended up in a box of miscellaneous only to be dealt with the following day. And the day after & the day after. They never really had a place, but you felt like you couldn't get rid of them......okay maybe I am crazy :). Hey I've been called worse :)
So anyway that's my 2 big projects. House & Yard Sale! Yee ha :)

As for my kiddies? They are growing by leaps & bounds. I still can't believe how fast my baby has grown. The more kids you have, it seams the faster they grow up.

Tyler is repeating everything he hears of course :). He's our own little parrot :). He loves to climb on EVERYTHING & put EVERYTHING in his mouth still. In fact, I'm surprised he doesn't poop out little barbie pieces :). He loves the 'Head, shoulders, knees & toes' song & loves doing the rolling action in 'Pat-A-Cake.' :) He says "showda's" & "neese" so cute :). I love it! He also has 4 new little teeth within the past month (those were rough).
Tyler is usually mom's little shadow. Whenever I sit down to fold laundry or clean up toys, he plots himself right in my lap. When I'm on the computer, he's usually standing on the computer still :). Except now he loves to push the buttons on the keyboard. He is my little sweetheart though. I am so in love with that little boy :). He always has lots of hugs & kisses for mom & dad.
Tyler's new thing is throwing dishes & silverware away! I have the kind of garbage can you have to step on to open & he's just discovered how to open it. So when I was done cleaning up after dinner the other day. I went to throw some stuff away, & lo & behold there are cups & silverware in the garbage. Good thing I noticed! I grabbed out what I could see, but I have a feeling some of it went to the garbage heaven. There's only so much garbage I'm willing to ruffle through before it gets a little disgusting....ugh! I'm trying to teach him to put it in the sink instead. Here's crossing the fingers on that one! Either way, mom's on high alert now.
Let's see....what ? Tyler's still great about taking naps. When he starts acting tired I give him his 'baba' and as soon as he's done. I lay him down, put the blanket on him, & he lays there until he falls asleep. It's great. Jayden's actually getting better at going to bed now also. He was such an easy baby to put to bed until he turned 3 and then he had to have mom lay with him. Now when he's tired he's really good about just laying down and going to bed. Whoo hoo. :) Gotta love that! :)

Jayden is still my little adventure kid. He loves playing outside and diggin' in the dirt for roley poley's and worms, of course. Both him & Mikayla, actually. Those poor roley poleys dont' have a chance. They catch no less than 30 a day. I'm surprised we still have some ;). He's so excited now that he's part of Mikayla's little group. He loves being included. Little June, our little neighbor, now comes to get just Jayden to play when Mikayla's at school. He loves it, of course :) It makes him feel very important.
He loves to play with his little cars & animals & his Transformers (which usually end up in pieces, when he tries to transform, & mom has to come to the rescue to put them back together). The last couple of days Jayden & Tyler have been playing with the pretend food, which usually ends up all over the floor in seconds.
Jayden still gets upset if people don't wave at him or tell him goodbye when they leave. He gets his feelings hurt. He's a lot better about helping mom clean up. He used to just lay on the floor with a toy in his hand waiting for the mess to clean itself up. It could be due to the fact that mom's threatened to either throw away or sell their toys if they don't. I know, I'm a mean mom, what can I say?!
Jayden is also a studly little dancer :). He's so fun to watch. He gets very into it :). Alot of his moves look more like breakdancing, so we'll se where that goes :). He's pretty good too.

(I love this expression :)
Mikayla, my beautiful 7 year old now is busy with friends & school :). She, of course, still has to have friends to play with 24-7. She's usually the ringleader. :) She's still our social little butterfly. Mikayla is always making wonderful cards for mom & dad with the cutest illustrations. :) She is very creative. She makes notes for her little friends & puts them in their mailboxes also to cheer them up :). She is doing very well in school. Excelling in reading & spelling & math, etc. She's now starting to read chapter books & wants mom to go to the store and buy her a whole bunch so she can read them :). I keep telling her one @ a time, but she can't read them fast enough. She's definitely takes after mom in that department :).
Mikayla newest thing is standing on her head. I swear that girl spends @ least 1/2 her day on her head. She has got to have the strongest neck muscles for a 7 year old! When she's watching t.v. she's leaning against the couch or on the couch upside down, or against the wall, the bed, the doors....you name it. It freaks me out! I keep thinking she's going to hurt herself...not that it changes anything. She still does it.
Mikayla's loves being outside. All my kids do. They would spend the entire day outside if I let them. They never get sick of it. Loves catching bugs, swimming, jumping on the trampoline, riding our neighbors little sit on vehicles with the little batteries, loves playing barbies (I just bought her the little....did I say little....okay not....the BIG Hannah Montana house. It was on Clearance @ Wal-Mart. They've been playing with it every day this week. It's pretty cool.) Usually Mikayla and all of her friends play barbies here. She's the barbie queen. :) She has a lot more clothes & accesories, dolls. Yes I know, she's spoiled. You have to usually buy the barbie to get alot of the accessories. So I went a little crazy on e-bay when we lived in Provo. What can I say. We didn't even have 1/4 the stuff they do now, when I was little. Most of our barbie clothes, my older sister Rochelle made, and we only had a couple of furniture pieces. Our barbie house was this wooden briefcase looking thing, that opened up with 2 beds on hinges folded down. With a couple of shelves. Or it was a plastic covered cardboard criss-crossed to make the separate rooms. If you played with barbies back in the day, maybe you'll know what I'm talking about. Okay enough about barbies. I'll just say again, yes, she's spoiled. Moving on.......
Mikayla is still ecstatic she got her ears pierced. She wants mom to change them everyday. They've been a little sore lately though, We didn't properly disinfect one of the earrings and it made it red & slightly infected. But last night looked a lot better. A week ago, I told her we might need to take them out and let them heal up & do it again later, if it got any worse. All she was concerned about was waiting the 6 weeks before she could change out her earrings.
Oh I did give my boys their summer hair cuts :). The good ole hair buzz. They look so cute. I need to go over Tyler's again, though. That boy is like a bobble head when I give him a hair cut. He doesn't keep his head in one position for more than a second. There are a few stray hairs sticking up. Other than that, it went very well. No more little rag-a-muffin looking children in this house. :)

Okay now that I've written another novel, I think I can wrap it up :):).

Just for the record, there better not be a collective sigh from everyone who's kind enough to read my blog :). A 'thank goodness she's done' sigh! Oh come on, you guys love my novels :). My sister always comments that I can't just write a short note on birthday cards. It usually contains a novel that covers front & back :). Sorry can't be helped :) Take care and let me know how you guys are doing please! :) Love, Jo

Jayden & Grandma D's Zoo :)

Last week Grandma & Grandpa Dunn stayed @ our house for their yearly Spring Break round of visiting all their kids/grandkids. This year, Jayden was pretty much grandma's little shadow.

Well on Thursday Jayden came running downstairs all excited to show me the zoo he & grandma had just built in the toy room. This is the adorable site that greeted me when I got there :). Jayden kept getting upset @ Tyler for putting the animals in random places. He wanted them to be in their right cages :). I thought it was adorable!

(Don't you just love all the random toy storage containers. Too many toys much!!!!!! That's why all the kids love playing at our house because we have so many toys.)
