My days are mostly spent, taking care of kids & TRYING to clean house. Not that the task is ever accomplished. In fact, I've come to realize it's a distant fading goal that I hope will one day be accomplished :). Cross the fingers.
Mikayla: 7
-Loves Hannah Montana, Jonas Bros', Wizards of Waverly Place, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.
-Loves, loves, loves listening to music!!! You always know where Mikayla is because her music is always blaring & her & Jayden are singing & dancing to it.- Has always had great rhythm & beat. Need to get her in dance lessons.
-Very artistic & creative. Always drawing cute pictures (kept every one she ever drew. I bought her a how to draw book about 1 1/2 years ago, and she learned to draw a lot of animals.); making cute scrapbook pages, or making little crafts out of paper.
-Very smart. Is among the top in her class at school.
- Excellent reader. Does the whole intonations & everything. Very fun to listen to.
- Mom's big helper. She turns on her radio, and goes to work.
- Loves playing with friends. If she's not playing with friends, she's not happy. :)
- Always wants to play with mom.
- My Sensitive one. When she gets hurt, EVERYBODY knows it.
- Loves playing with Barbies, watercoloring, playing dress-up, house, watching t.v.,
- Scares mom when she rides her bike. She goes so fast! & goes careening around corners, barely slowing down. Has almost run into the light pole several times. Loves to skid to a halt (as evidenced by her out of commission tire).
-Loves School. Is usually up & ready for school before mom even gets up.
- Freaks out if you try and close her door at night. It has to be open & her closet door shut.
- Loves putting on little 'concerts' & 'puppet shows' for everyone.
- A little Entrepeneur :). Two months ago, her & her friends wanted to put on a show & charge people to come & watch them sing. :)
- Was so sweet to Loni, when she was going through a very rough time last month. She would call her mostly every day & read stories to her or try and cheer her up. She got upset @ herself if she forgot to call her. Such a sweet girl!
- Whenever I rock the boys, Mikayla gets upset & asks why I never rock her.
- Loves to paint & watercolor.
- Loves playing games on the computer. Very good at it too.
- Loves playing outside! If it's remotely nice weather...she's outside!
- Shoes are not her favorite thing. If she didn't have to wear them, she wouldn't. The first thing she does when she goes to her friends house is take them off. That's why she loves her slip ons.
- Lately she is constantly doing head stands. On the floor, on the couch, on the bed. You name it. I keep telling her she's going to hurt her neck, but she keeps doing it.
Jayden: 3 1/2
- Loves playing with his 'ammoles', 'dinesores', 'tars', & transformers (He can tell you all of the transformer names from the movie.)
- Is great @ entertaining himself!
- Favorite Foods: #1 Cereal, #2 Pizza, #3 Mac & Cheese, #4 Spaghetti. He asked me a couple weeks ago if they can put cereal on pizza! :)
- Is getting to be a very picky eater. If he doesn't like what it looks like, it's very hard to get him to eat it. He has to try @ least 1 bite, & usually ends up liking it, little stinker :)
- Has been known to eat 2-3 bowls of cereal in the morning.
- Wants Cereal for breakfast, lunch & dinner!
- If you don't say bye to Jayden, or @ least acknowledge him) when you're leaving somewhere, he has a total meltdown.
- Within the past month, when he gets upset, he cries for daddy. Never did that before.
- Is resisting potty training! He's great about going pee in the potty if mom constantly tells him to go. But if I don't ask him he usually won't go. To his credit, he's gone about 4-5 times without me having to ask, but normally he'll just say, mommy I wet, or 'mommy I tinky, change me'. Very Frustrating! He refuses to go #2. Aaaauuuggghhhh!!!!
- Has to have his door opened enough for him to see out into the hallway, @ night. Breaks down, if I even attempt to close the door, even if he has a night light on. Started about 2-3 months ago. Afraid of the dark!
- I always ask Jayden "How come I love you so much?" His response, 'tauze you do.' :)
- Absolutely hates time out! This last year, he's gotten this little stubborn attitude when mom & dad tell him he can't do something he really wants to do. He gets upset, starts sassing back, which usually end with him in time out. He's mad when you put him there, but within about 5 seconds he goes into meltdown mode.
- Loves, Loves, Loves helping dad out in the yard! Just followed dad & grandpa with his own little shovel this past weekend, when they were working on the landscaping in our yard.
- Our nightly ritual. 'I love you forever & ever, for always & always, from infinity & beyond, for all e-ter-ni-ty.' If I don't let him say the end part of eternity, he gets upset! Then he used to say 'you lay wiss me for one houra.' But when I told him no, now it's 'one minute'.
- Gets upset if he doesn't get to buckle himself in his car seat.
- Emmie Bybee is his 'best friend.' Other than Mikayla of course. :)
- Loves playing Barbies w/ Mikayla & her friends. He's always the 'boyfriend.'
- He gets so sad when we drop Mikayla off @ school. As soon we drop her off & start driving away, he wants me to go back & get her. 'Otay lets do det bayla now.' Every day he asks mom 'how old is I?', 'tan I do to school with Bayla.' He can't wait.
- Still doesn't recognize his ABC's & 123's. He can count to 20 & sing the alphabet song great. But when you try to teach him the individual letters & #'s, he guesses & when he doesn't get it right he gets upset and doesn't want to learn anymore.
- Is going to be an athlete!
Tyler: 20 Months
- Puts EVERYTHING in his mouth. And I do mean EVERYTHING. Jayden never put anything in his mouth (in his ears yes, & got a bead literally stuck up his nose once...but never his mouth. Tyler's making up for it!) If it can go in the mouth, it will. I've had to throw away about 1/2 of Mikayla's crayons. About 90% of our pencils have no erasers; he tries to eat the kids toothpaste every night; Nathan has had to throw away many an ear plug (gross I know); I've had to throw away more than 1/2 of Mikayla's magic wonder markers because he's bitten off the tips of the marker;
- Stubborn. You tell him to stop doing something. He looks at you & smiles & keeps on doing it.
- A Climber! For the past couple of months I've had my chairs layed sideways on my floor to prevent him from moving them across my kitchen to get into things he shouldn't be getting into. He figured out how to turn our toaster oven on; how to dump salt all over my counter & floor; how to climb on my table; how to empty the pots & pans & plasticware out of my cupboards; now how to empty the cupboards in my pantry (I have to lock it now). The more you tell him no, the more he does it.
- His new favorite thing is to dump his water in his food.
- Loves playing tag with Jayden. Will chase each other up & down the hallways. Usually always ending in one of them getting hurt.
- Will not sit still to let me change his tush. He is the hardest baby in the world to change! Sometimes, I have to pin his legs just so I can velcro the diaper on.
- Whenever he has something the older kids wants & they TRY to get it back. He squeels with delight, & runs away as fast as he can turning it into a game (doesn't make them very happy).
- Loves his 'baba'. Gets upset when he can't hold the lid while it's being warmed up.
- Has this whole crying thing going on. When he's told no. He covers his face in both of his hands & starts to have a major break down. It's worse when dad does it :).
- Is a total mamas boy. Wherever mom is, Tyler's usually there with me. He's my little shadow. If I'm on the computer, he's standing on the computer base, trying to push buttons.
- Can turn on my washing machine.
- Loves closing my washer & dryer doors 50 times WHILE I am trying to fill them. A little frustrating! :)
- Loves standing on the edge of my 'piece of crap' dishwasher & take dishes off of the racks.
- Whenever the front door is open, he makes a mad dash for freedom. Usually heading straight for the road, or the back yard by the dogs & dirt.
- Says mamuss, dadas, & babies over & over & over :). So cute!!!
- Words can say: Mamuss, dadas, sssocks, shoos, zzzzzip, babas, peece (please), day coo (thank you), dawgs (used to be gogs up until a couple weeks ago, head, sholders, knees, toes, eat, etc. He'll pretty much copy anything you say now.
- Absolutely loves dogs. Whenever he hears dogs barking always runs to investigate. A couple months ago, he started acting like a dog, because he saw Mikayla & Jayden playing dogs with their friends. And he plays the part to a T. He crawls on all 4's, with his tongue out panting, & then he tries to lick us and rub against our leg if we're standing, & ruffs. It's hilarious!!!
- Such a snugly boy. :) Loves to give hugs & kisses. Was so excited when he could make the kissing sound :).
- Is mom's little shadow. Always wants mom attention. Whenever I sit down, he is right in mom's lap.
- Loves to empty the movies out of the entertainment unit. On a daily basis!
- Is still the easiest baby to put down for a nap or at night. I usually rock him for a couple of minutes, lay him down, put his blanket over him and he snuggles into his blanket. :) love it!
- Sees Mikayla doing head stands & sommersaults & tries to do it. It's so cute. He pretty much just scoots across the floor with his head on the carpet & butt in the air. :)
