The other day I was shopping with my kids. Word of advice? Never shop when you're hungry. Money & Hunger = a Lethal combination. I had so much junk food in my cart by the end of that little trip, I think it outnumbered the healthy, 3 to 1. I know, not good.
Anyway I bought some licorice nibs for the kids to share, telling them before hand, that the only way I'll buy it is if they wait until after they eat dinner. Of course, the kids readily agree, knowing moms caving in.
Well, we're about halfway home from Wal-Mart when the distinct aroma of cherry licorice fills my van. My little stinker Mikayla had opened it up and was chowing it down, like it was going out of style. Of course, I immediately demanded that she hand them up to mom... & no, not so I could eat them, I know what you're thinking :), but to confiscate them.
"But I'm starving mom," came the wail from the back seat.
"Mikayla I didn't buy them so you could get full on sugar & candy. I shouldn't have bought them."
"I eat sugarbot." Came the enthusiastic reply from Jayden.
"I know you will." said mom smiling. :)

hahaha...if it were my car, I would have been the one devouring the bag with my kids begging for some.
Uhh so hard to buy treats and make them wait! My mother-in-law opens treats or chips in the store and lets my kids eat them before purchased, so it has been difficult to not do the same. i try to tell them that only Nana does that.
