Does anyone else get freaked out by the constant talk about getting your food storage, water supply, etc in order? Maybe it's just me, but especially since I'm a member of the LDS Church, it's been a lot on my mind lately. It could do with the fact that they talk about it all the time. But still, it kind of scares me. It seams like such a daunting task!
I know they try & break it down into little steps & everything, but I keep thinking that I'm not ready, if anything should happen. I've been storing water, but what if I don't have enough, what if I didn't store it right? There are just so many variables to think of. I know they don't want us to be scared, just prepared. But it's hard not to be.
Things were so much easier when I was younger. I didn't have near as many things to worry about. If I asked my parents, I would probably get a different answer. :) But I was never scared of anything, like I am today. Especially since I have my own kids to worry about. I am so scared of what they're going to have to deal with growing up. They always say there's nothing to be scared about, IF YOU'RE PREPARED! But prepared for what?
Okay I guess I'm just a worry-wort, but still. Am I the only person who feels this way? All I can say, is I better get my butt in gear, and get my food storage in order. I would definitely rather be prepared, than not!

Jodi, we have had a lot of feelings like this. My husband and I have had some very personal experiences from the Holy Ghost. My husband had a prompting so strong that he can't think about anything but food storage. He says he can't relax until he has what he needs to have. As of 4 months ago, we had NOTHING. We now have at least a year, if not more. All I can tell you is that this is real. The prophets haven't been telling us this for the past 50 years for nothing. We are preparing for the complete collapse of our economy. Food isn't always going to be so easy to get. We are also preparing for the natural disasters that will come and have been promised to come. If you take a nation that is in poverty and then throw in some major natural disasters, we may not recover. You throw in failed crops and major job lay-offs. Food is going to be the next money. There will come a day when a pound of wheat is worth more than a pound of gold. The facts are that only 10% or less of the church members are actually prepared with a year supply or more. If we think that the church is going to be able to take care of all of us when the time comes - I think we are going to be in for a big surprise. We know that the second comeing is real. We know what the earth has to go through in order for the second coming to happen. We are going to go through that - it is going to be in our life time and our childrens life time that we see the winding up of the earth as the path is made ready. Sorry for being so blunt, but I have very strong feelings about this. It is very important and if you are thinking about it a lot, maybe it's more than just a thought??? Maybe a prompting...
