Mikayla was born @ 4:39 p.m. on March 19, 2002. She weighed 8 lbs, 4.4 oz. She was 20 inches long & had lots of beautiful brown hair :). I couldn't stop staring @ my beautiful, precious baby girl! I was so overwhelmed with the magnitude of love I felt flowing through me just looking into her angelic face, that I couldn't help but cry tears of joy. There is no feeling like it in the world, when you look into your baby's face for the first time. The knowledge that moments before she was up in Heaven with our Father in Heaven & that we were now being blessed with being able to be her parents, was such a humbling & beautiful feeling!
Here are some fun little tidbits of information about my sweet Mikayla :):
1.
Loves, Loves, Loves Music! I bought her, her own CD player when she was about 2 & she's loved music ever since. She loves to sing & dance & put on little concerts with her friends & little brothers. She has a very good little singing voice. We tease her that she's going to be the next Hannah Montana :). She even has to have music on when she cleans her room! She says it makes her clean faster. If there's a song involved with learning concepts @ school. She immediately picks up on them.2. Mom's Big Helper: Always helping mom with house chores. She'll always ask mom 'What can I do to help?' Let's just say, she gives mom my sanity back. I don't know what I would do without her?!
3 Such a Wonderful Big Sister: Jayden got hurt today and she went out of her way to make him feel better. She was holding his hand. She sang songs to him. Gave him big hugs. I was so proud of her. Always such a big help with the boys.
4. Awesome Reader: Mikayla has always loved books. Ever since she was a little girl. Now that she can read them on her own. I find her with not one or two, but stacks of books by her side. She's taking after mom :). I'm amazed at what a good reader she is. . She's one of the top readers in her class!
5. Little Miss Social Bug :): Mikayla has always loved being around family & friends. I always tease her about being Little Miss Social Bug because she makes friends so easy. She is always asking to play with friends & cousins. She feels lost when she doesn't have someone to play with. Even if it's only her little brothers. When she was little, on many occasions she would start conversations with complete strangers & tell them all about mom & dad & her brothers & Morgan (her cousin, I babysat when she was a baby) just as if they knew us all personally. Good thing she didn't know our phone number & address yet or she would've told them that as well. :)
6. Artistic: Mikayla loves to draw & color/watercolor & make anything crafty. She is constantly surprising mom & dad & her friends with cute little notes that she makes. She makes cute little scrapbook pages she decorates with stickers & fake flowers & stencils. She loves making hearts out of paper, & writing how much she loves mom & dad. She'll make little books out of construction paper. I bought her a how-to-draw book a couple of years ago & she has become quite the little artist as well. Mom has kept every single paper she has ever drawn on & she keeps getting better & better with time.
7. Such a Sweet Girl With a Big Heart: Whenever anyone in her family is down, Mikayla is the one who tries to cheer them up. My sister was having a rough time & Mikayla made sure to call her every day when she'd get home from school. She missed one day & felt so bad, that she made sure to call her the next day & let her know she was still thinking of her. She would sing her songs & tell her stories.
8.
Loves, Loves, Loves the Outdoors: If the sun is shining, she is outside! Whether it's hunting for bugs, playing with friends, helping dad in the yard or riding her bike (even though she scares mom cause she rides so fast & skids on her breaks to stop. She literally wore out her tire!), etc. I can hardly keep her inside.

Loves playing with Legos. Will always make these intricate "castles". :):)10.
Loves to play dress-up & put on little shows. Uses bath mitts in the shape of animals as puppets :).11.
Absolutely adores Uncle Michael & Aunt Loni & her grandparents.12. Loves to go swimming & play in the water. I call her my water baby. If we let her go to the pool everyday she'd be happy!
13. Always wants to do something with mom. Whether it's scrapbooking, reading books, playing barbies, playing games, you name it :).
14. She has an infectious laugh. Mom can't help but giggle right along w/ Mikayla when she gets her giggle fits. :) When she was little she would always say 'mom tickle me' over & over & over. I think that's mainly why she hates to be tickled today!
15. Mikayla loves to be center of attention. She can definitely keep a room entertained. Whether it's putting on little concerts, making plays, just being plain silly. She is totally in her element. Mom keeps telling her she's going to be our little actress.
16. Can be very dramatic @ times. :) When Mikayla is hurt, Everyone knows it! When she's trying something she's never done before, she tends to psyche herself out first. For example: when she got her ears pierced, she freaked out for about 10 minutes, and then she wanted to watch another little girl get it done first, who thank goodness didn't even make a peep. When Mikayla's turn came again, she didn't even cry when they did it. All she said was 'owe, that really hurt.' She psyched herself out. She just kept imagining how bad it was going to hurt & took it way out of proportion. I still love you baby, but, yes, you are a little dramatic :).
17. My Sensitive One. She tends to get her feelings hurt easily. When we try & joke around with her to try & get her to laugh. A lot of the times she takes it serious instead of how it was intended. I feel bad with her being the oldest, because I rely on her help so much, that she feels a little left out like around bedtime & such. I used to rock Mikayla when she was a baby & when she got older she didn't want to be rocked to sleep anymore. So then I moved on to Jayden & now to Tyler. Now my older 2 want to be rocked again. I feel bad!
18. Loves Hannah Montana (can sing every one of her songs from the 1st 3 CD's), The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, Wizards of Waverly Place, High School Musical, etc.
Happy Birthday Baby!!! I am so proud of the sweet, beautiful, caring daughter that you are turning into. You bring such joy & love to our lives. :) I am so proud to be your mom! You make your family & friends so happy with your wonderful personality, sweet spirit & your warm heart. Always remember how very much we love & appreciate you!!!!! I don't know what I would do without you! I am so sorry if I ever put too many expectations on you! I don't mean to. I love you my sweet beautiful angel! Thank you for being you!!!
